As a member of the Carter family, June Carter Cash was born into country music royalty. She married Johnny Cash 1968, and helped the hard-partying musician to quit drugs and return to his faith. He credits June with saving his life. The pair had a son, John Carter Cash, in 1970. June and Johnny continued to perform together, recording duets and appearing on stage and screen. In 2003, June Carter Cash died during a heart valve replacement surgery. Her husband of 35 years, Johnny Cash, followed her in death a mere four months later.

Cash inherited her father’s love of music, and began her career touring as a backup singer for the Man in Black. Rosanne has won one Grammy, and received 12 total nominations. Her 2009 album, The List, won the Americana Music Award for Best Album of the Year. Rosanne has charted 21 Top 40 country singles, including 11 Number Ones, and has written four books. She is mother to five children, Caitlin Rivers Crowell, Chelsea Jane Crowell, Carrie Kathleen Crowell, and Jakob William Leventhal.
Kathleen Cash is the second of the four daughters of Johnny Cash and his first wife Vivian Liberto. Kathy was given the opportunity to sing on stage with her famous father, but didn’t enjoy the spotlight. Kathy eventually married musician Jimmy Tittle, who performed with Johnny Cash until the birth of their daughter. Kathy is mother to two children, Dustin Tittle and Kacy Tittle.
Cindy is the third-youngest of the four daughters of Johnny Cash and his first wife Vivian Liberto. Like her older sister, Rosanne, Cindy performed on stage with her father. She moved to Nashville to pursue a singing career at the age of 19. She performed with the group Next Generation, joining the daughters' of other country legends such as Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, and Conway Twitty. Cindy’s first husband, musician Marty Stuart, was a member of her father’s road band. Cindy survived her second husband, Eddie Panetta, and is mother to one daughter, Jessica Dorraine Brock.
Tara Cash is the youngest of the four daughters of Johnny Cash and his first wife Vivian Liberto. In 2014 she announced the release of a book about her father’s reflections of his childhood titled Recollections by J.R. Cash. Tara met her husband, Fred Schwoebel, on the set of one of her father’s movies. She is the mother to two children, Aran Thomas Schwoebel and Alexander Roland Schwoebel.
Daughter of June Carter and her first husband, Carl Smith, Carlene Carter has enjoyed a long and successful career as a musician, in the family tradition. She began her career as a songwriter in her teens and, over the years, has recorded twelve albums with major labels, as well as releasing more than twenty singles. She is mother to two children, Tiffany Anastasia Lowe and John Jackson Routh. Married to actor Joseph Breen, Carlene lives in Northern California.
Rosie Nix Adams, daughter of June Carter and her second husband, Edwin “Rip” Nix, was a regularly performing member of the Carter Family and was a singer who also performed as a back up vocalist. In 1974, she recorded a single with stepfather, Johnny Cash, entitled “Father and Daughter.” Sadly, Rosie passed away from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning in 2003, shortly after the deaths of both June and Johnny. She is buried near them both and survived by her husband Philip Adams.
